How it solves multiple issues of climate change, soil conservation, natural or organic farming, animal welfare and farmer income. Community gobar gas plants are a sustainable and eco-friendly solution for some of the challenges faced by Indian farmers. Gobar gas, also known as biogas, is produced by anaerobic digestion of organic waste, such as cow dung, crop residues, kitchen waste, etc. The gas can be used for cooking, lighting, and generating electricity, while the leftover slurry can be used as organic fertilizer for the crops.
